10 Malware Prevention Tips

Anti-spyware – Antispyware prevent your system from being spied on, so make sure that you have a reliable anti-spyware installed if you want to protect your privacy, data and your expensive computer system.

Antivirus – Virus is the most dangerous and without a reliable anti-virus running on your system, it is not advisable to connect your computer to the internet.

Beware of Unknown Email – whenever you receive emails with attachments from an address you do not know, it is better not to open it because the email could contain malwares such as a virus, worms or a Trojan horse.

Software Download – Peer-to-peer file sharing sites have a high number of viruses. This is the means by which virus spread across the internet. Beware of what you download on the internet. If it is suspicious do not install.

Active X Control – Whenever you are on a web page that has its active x control blocked, do not run the control unless you know what it does. Running the active x control program may install a virus on your computer.

Flashing Banners – some website has flashing banner that claims your computer has been scanned and found to be infected with spywares, do not be fooled by a advertising banner that lure you into buying their product.

Security Fixes and Patches – Apply security fixes and patches to your operating system and the programs installed on your computer. Turn on automatic update from the control panel so that your computer can be updated regularly without you having to do anything.

Pop ups – when you see a suspicious pop up that refuse to close or redirect you to another website, simply right click the window in the taskbar and close it from there.

Run antivirus in Safe mode – running an anti-virus program in safe mode means that you get better result.

Use Firefox Browser – Internet Explorer browser is known to have security issues, download firefox browser which is free and more secured to better protect your computer system.
